Handmade with Love is hosting a sewing day on Wednesday, June 28, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We will be constructing pillowcases.
This time the recipient of our sewing will be Lone Star Santas. This group can provide all the Santas, Mrs. Claus, Elves, and Helpers anyone could ever need. They are a 501© (3) non-profit recognized by The Red Cross and FEMA. Besides their Santa work they provide disaster relief to communities year-round. I became aware of them when Bob Phillips of Texas Country Reporter did a story about the organization.
I have a goal of 50 pillowcases. This project does require that you know how to run a sewing machine. It is simple straight-line sewing and uses a neat little turning trick on the pillowcase band. I have two sewing machines available if you can sew but do not have a machine.
